The Sun Painted the River and I was there to see...

Today, the sun painted the river—like nothing I had ever seen. The clouds and the moon joined in contrasting this score. Colors never seen or used before—that would make jealous of Michelangelo, Monet, Rembrandt, Picasso, or Van Gogh. Today I witnessed a miracle materialize before my very eyes. Few knew about this tantalizing surprise. The sun descended setting behind the trees I biked along the Deleware River to return to my car at Washington's Crossing. As the daylight slipped away, I did not want to delay. As my tires rolled to a hum, my eyes glanced forward at the road ahead. The residual rays of the sun behind my right shoulder—too beautiful to be denied. The earlier bright blue sky turns a pale blue-gray as the day slips away. But the horizon, becomes the brush in the sun's hand, splashes colors—orange, red, and pinkish hues emitting a spectacular spectacle. My attention diverts from the road; these never-before-seen colors; this brilliant cascading light can no longer be denied. I delayed my plan to get back to the car. Another miracle, I stopped in front of a church which happens to have the best view all around. Time suddenly stops as I am swept away into this living art scene. I am captivated and entranced; dazzled beyond comprehension. I look down at the river below; a ripple show. As I take in more of this scene the sun's paint continues to disperse on the river and my eyes are painted too. Today, the sun painted the river; the clouds and the moon painted too. The moon's slightly blue flickering in the river vibing in synchronicity. I look around shocked that no one else is here. I feel like an explorer who just found the coveted treasure. Today, the sun painted the river and I was there to see. Shocked in disbelief; no one else here but me. The residual beam of rays cascaded from the horizon from the pale gray-blue sky. Each sunray casts strokes of color on the river ripples below creating colored bans never before seen. Oh, what a scene! Divine; ethereal—lifts my heart and soul to heights beyond this earthly plain. Today the sun painted the river and I was kissed by infinity.
